I'm sitting down to connect with you all while trying to squeeze in my last mojito of the season-it's Oct. in New York so I really should be working on hot drinks or heavier ones, but this one is to the farewell of warm weather. I used threw some blackberries into my mix and it's this pretty purple jewel colour. Mmm, tasty. What was your favourite drink of the summer?
Long Island Iced Tea!
No seriously! This bartender at Tavern on the Green made one for me in what he said was 'the classic style' and it wa delicious, not to mention beautifully presented. Not the party drink of college I remember.
Tea Time
That's funny, the much maligned Long Island Ice Tea is on my list of articles to talk about--my preview thought son it are: this actually enjoyed some decency before it blew out of proportions. When mixed with delicacy and fresh lemon juice (with some simple syrup) and not foamy toxic sour mix, it can be delightful. But hold back on the tequila! Keep posted on my special version of this dangerous drink.
